Chef/Cook

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef/Cook to enhance the culinary experience at our upcoming retreat. This role is perfect for someone who delights in crafting nourishing and delicious meals that cater to a variety of dietary needs, ensuring all guests enjoy a seamless and satisfying dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Retreat:

  • Collaborate with Mir to finalize and provide a written menu well in advance of the retreat.

  • Create a comprehensive grocery and snack list based on the menu.

  • Plan and prepare menus that accommodate guests' dietary restrictions and preferences.

Pre-Retreat - On Arrival:

  • Efficiently unpack and store food and snacks upon arrival.

  • Prepare food in advance as much as possible, including bagging and labeling for easy use.

  • Craft welcome appetizers and set up a reception area with snacks and champagne.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing cookware, plates, drinkware, and utensils.

During Retreat:

  • Prepare and plate all meals as scheduled.

  • Manage kitchen operations, ensuring tidiness and sanitation throughout the event.

  • Keep beverage stations replenished and maintain clean service areas.

  • Store leftovers properly and perform end-of-day cleaning, including wiping down counters and appliances.

  • Take inventory of groceries and snacks to manage supplies efficiently.

Post-Retreat:

  • Clean and empty the refrigerator, storing any leftover food in containers.

  • Ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are left clean and orderly.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a chef or cook, with a strong ability to cater to various dietary needs.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety.

  • Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations smoothly.
